Ora

SPORTident Ora is the app for managing your orienteering events. Set up your event, read out cards, print splits and publish rich online results instantly.

Requirements

The Ora App is currently available for 64-bit devices with Android 10 and higher.

Install the app on your Android device

  1. Make sure you have a Google account.
  2. Open your Android device and install the SPORTident Ora App from the Google Play Store.

Offline use

Ora is designed to work offline during trainings and competitions. An internet connection is only required to activate your subscription on a device; after that, the device needs to reconnect to the SPORTident servers from time to time to keep the license valid.

Obviously, if you want to publish results on Center your device also needs to be online.

Pricing

Ora is free to download on all supported platforms and includes a free tier with core functionality, such as import, export and results publication on Center. For clubs that need higher participant numbers or multiple connected devices, two paid subscription plans are available, plus a Flex plan for larger or custom needs.

Multi-device support will be available in 2027.

  • All prices are excluding VAT
  • All paid plans allow an unlimited number of trainings and competitions per year — the participant limit applies per competition, not per year.
  • A subscription is licensed to a single club, for use by all of its members.
  • There are no trial subscriptions.
  • Flex is also the option for professional timekeepers and for events that need capabilities beyond the standard plans (for example advanced features for large events). Contact SPORTident directly to discuss pricing.
  • The Free plan does not require a SPORTident Center account. All paid plans require a SPORTident Center account.

Additional participants

If a competition needs more participants than included in your plan, you can book additional capacity for that competition ahead of time. This must be prepaid and is billed per participant beyond your plan’s included number, at €0.30 per participant (excluding VAT). Booking additional participants requires a paid plan.

Details

  • Exceeding the participant limit: If a competition exceeds the participants included in your plan without having booked additional capacity in advance, results export and other features are disabled. Core functionality such as card readout remain available. For the free plan, you cannot add more than 50 participants to an event.
  • Access after payment: Once a competition has been paid for, you can keep accessing and editing it (for example to correct results) indefinitely afterwards.
  • Account sharing: Subscriptions may be shared freely among members of the same club, but may not be shared between different clubs.
  • Device cap: Up to 20 devices can be connected to a subscription at the same time. This limit can be increased on request.
  • Payment: Subscriptions and overage fees are paid by credit card; payment by invoice is not available.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to the use of SPORTident Ora (“Ora”) and any subscription purchased for it, in addition to the plans, prices, limits and offline-use behaviour described above, which form part of these Terms.

Contracting party

Ora is provided by:

SPORTident GmbH
Markt 14
99310 Arnstadt
Germany

Managing directors: Dr. Siegfried Ritter, Dr. Burkhard Ritter
Registered at Amtsgericht Jena, HRB 500738
VAT ID: DE251972895
Email: support@sportident.com

Further company details are available on our legal information page.

Account and eligibility

  • The Free plan can be used without a SPORTident Center account. All paid plans require a SPORTident Center account.

  • Where an account is used by a club, the person setting it up confirms that they are authorised to do so on the club’s behalf, and that the subscription will only be used for that one club, as described under Pricing.

  • For the purposes of these Terms, a “club” is a non-profit sports club or similar grassroots organisation whose members are predominantly private individuals practising the sport, rather than other organisations. Regional, national or international sports federations and other umbrella bodies or associations of clubs do not qualify as a “club” under these Terms — please contact us if you are such an organisation.

  • All plans, including Standard and Premium, are also available to for-profit organisations, such as professional timekeepers. For these organisations, the club-specific rules above — in particular, sharing a subscription with all members of one club — do not apply; a for-profit organisation may use its subscription within the organisation itself, but may not share it with another organisation.

  • The account holder must be at least 18 years old, or a legal entity (such as a club) acting through an authorised adult representative. Individual club members may use Ora under the club’s subscription regardless of their own age, subject to parental or guardian consent where required by law.

Licence

SPORTident grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use Ora within the limits of your plan. You may not sublicense, rent out or resell access to Ora, and must not use it on behalf of, or share it with, any club or organisation other than the one the subscription was issued to.

Intellectual property

© SPORTident GmbH. All rights reserved.

SPORTident Ora and its components are protected by copyright. Copying or modifying the software beyond its intended use, and decompiling, disassembling or otherwise reverse engineering it, in whole or in part, is prohibited unless mandatory law expressly permits it. Use of the software is subject to these Terms.

Updates

We provide updates to Ora that are reasonably necessary to keep it working as described in these Terms, for as long as you hold an active subscription (or, for the Free plan, for a reasonable period after release). Updates may require a current operating system version; we cannot guarantee ongoing support for operating system versions no longer supported by their manufacturer.

Availability and warranty

We aim for Ora and any connected services to be available and work as described, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, in particular for functionality that depends on an internet connection, third-party app stores, or your own hardware. Your statutory warranty rights are not affected by these Terms.

Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For damage caused by ordinary negligence, we are only liable for breach of a material contractual obligation, and only up to the amount of damage that was foreseeable when the contract was concluded. Any further liability is excluded.

Term, cancellation and auto-renewal

  • You can stop using the Free plan at any time by uninstalling Ora or deleting your account.

  • Paid subscriptions run for an initial term of one year. You can opt in to automatic renewal.

  • You can cancel at any time before the end of the current subscription period. Cancellation takes effect at the end of that period, and the subscription does not renew.

  • We may terminate a subscription for cause, in particular for a material breach of these Terms (for example, sharing a subscription between different clubs) that is not corrected within a reasonable time after we have notified you.

Right of withdrawal

  • If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of concluding it, without giving reasons, by contacting us at support@sportident.com. If you ask us to start providing the subscription before the withdrawal period ends and then withdraw, you must pay a proportionate amount for the part of the subscription already provided.
  • For one-off purchases, such as additional participant capacity for a single competition, you can expressly ask us to begin providing it immediately. In that case, you confirm that you understand that your right of withdrawal ends once we have fully provided it (for example, once the additional capacity has been activated for your competition).

Payment and third-party services

  • Paid subscriptions and additional-participant fees are processed by our payment provider, Payrexx. Payrexx’s own terms apply to the payment process in addition to these Terms.
  • Where Ora is distributed through a third-party app store (currently Google Play, with other stores planned), that store’s own terms also apply.

Data protection

Information on how we process personal data in connection with Ora is set out in our privacy policy.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements. We will give you reasonable notice of material changes before they take effect.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by German law. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of residence remain unaffected.

Miscellaneous

Should any provision of these Terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is not affected.
